One of the major concerns our clients face today are environmental issues. This can involve anything from obtaining government approvals to getting things done in the field.
While working in beautiful British Columbia, Speers is always dealing with creeks, rivers, lakes, and oceans. In-stream work, with all of its challenges, is part of almost every project for our crew and equipment.
As a progressive company, Speers Construction uses “environmentally friendly” hydraulic oil when working in environmentally sensitive areas. The oil of choice is Brandt ValPar as it has been engineered to have a minimum impact on the ecosystem.
The results of exhaustive bench and field testing have made this the product of choice. It exceeds the requirements of both the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Fish and Wildlife Service for non-toxicity and biodegradability. This is just one of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to an environmentally, friendlier work site.
Our Employees receive Environmental Awareness training on all projects we take on large or small.
We have active recycling programs throughout the company that include, but are not limited to, batteries, glycol, filters, and scrap metal in the shops, paper, cardboard and toner recycling in the offices.
Our environmental goal as a construction company is to incorporate sound environmental practices in all aspects of our daily operations. We strive to minimize pollution and understand that our responsibilities extend beyond regulations. We have undergone ISO and SFI audits and pride ourselves on the education and training of our employees so that we can operate our company at the highest possible standard. We respect the environment for the benefit of present and future communities.
