Speers got involved in highway construction in the early 80’s when it was awarded the 1st Contract of the 3rd phase of the Coquihalla. Speers also worked on Highway #16 overpasses at Houston BC and Vanderhoof BC in the 80’s. More recently Speers Construction has built retaining walls, avalanche catchment areas, installed safety curve improvements, as well as emergent repairs to a variety of highways.
Our municipal history also goes back to the 80’s when Ray tackled watermain installation projects in Salmon Arm. After this Ray then went to Surrey in the 90’s for Scott Road upgrading. Speers has since built Revelstoke Mountain Resorts Mackenzie Landing Subdivision in 2008, Highmark Industrial Park in 2016 as well as the Revelstoke’s first roundabout at Victoria and Mutas in 2017. Speers has the crew, equipment and knowledge to undertake a variety of highway municipal projects safely and on schedule.
With Speers’ experience and large fleet of heavy equipment, construction jobs are bid on a continuous basis. From highway construction in the 1980’s to dam construction in the new millennium, Speers continues to grow in the heavy construction sector.
A fleet of excavators, dozers, loaders, rock trucks, haul trucks and trailers and various other pieces of equipment gives Speers the capability to carry out a wide spectrum of heavy construction jobs.
